What is a split?
A split refers to members of a group committing to purchase a portion of a bulk product.

Why would you split a bulk product?
A group purchasing a whole bulk item together, reduces the cost of the item, for each member.  The price of bulk items is much more competive than the smaller pack sizes. For example, a large group may choose to purchase a 25kg bag of oats. Some members may commit to 1kg, some may commit to taking 2kg or 3kg each.   Each member only pays the price of the amount / portion they order.

What size split can I commit to buying?
Any size! Our splits function is set to grams so you can literally purchase a few grams if you wish. The price is worked out per gram, so what ever size you choose you only pay for the amount that you have ordered.

Keep in mind, your group will need to 'fill the split' before committing to buying the whole item. If you really want something at the bulk price per kg, its worth talking to your group and highlighting your split.

Can my group see the split I have started?
Yes! Under the products tab, there is a drop down menu showing the products that are split.

What if we don't fill a split?
If your group wants to remove a split because they can't fill it, the group admin can remove the split from the order. This can be done while the order is open, or in pending.
